Dr. Alida Sanabria

A New York native, born in Queens to parents of Puerto Rican decent found her love of pets at a very young age. She followed that passion and attended John Bowne as an Agriculture student where she graduated as top student within the animal science focus. During her time in high school, she solidified her love of veterinary medicine by gaining work experience in the field starting as a kennel assistant and working her way up.

After graduation, she attended Cornell University where she attained a Bachelors in Animal Science. During her time at Cornell she gained leadership experience by partaking in multiple student groups but most significantly by joining her sorority, Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.

After Cornell, she took a 3 year break to gain more experiences in the field. During this time she worked as a veterinary assistant at the ASPCA while completing prerequisites. This is where she met Dr. Barnes who was completing an internship as part of her Veterinary Technician education.
